We have permission from the president of the Pacific Locomotive Association (the owner/operator of the Niles Canyon Railway) to use their parking lot for our event. Sometimes he forgets to tell the members of his association. If you see someone from the association, you also might ask if they would be willing to turn on the light for us. They have in the past. Once they know we have permission, they are generally pretty friendly.
